Night 2 of running at night. After work. Let me clarify, after a long day at work. I’m not entirely sure how I transitioned to running at night the last two days, but it’s surprisingly been rather refreshing.
Last night was supposed to be an easy run for 8 miles, but with the fairly nice weather, I ended up doing a tempo speed for the whole thing. Not to say it was entirely easy, I knew my body was working harder, but for some reason I just kept wanting to go. Guess it was a way to relieve some stress?
This morning I couldn’t bring myself to wake up to run in the rain, and today was so hectic at work that I contemplated skipping my workout. Nevertheless, I decided to run after work again, but this time did 6 miles on the treadmill instead of outside. A long time I know, but I had to catch up on Revenge! I did some quick stretches before the gym closed and headed home.
I am so excited for an easy weekend. After three weekends in a row of 16, 17, and 18 miles, my body will be so happy to do a 13 mile run. I’m thinking of doing it at a race pace just to see where I’m at. The weather forecast is telling me possible snow on Sunday. I’m actually really hoping for it because I received a pair of Yaktrax to try out! I’ve heard some great things about running in them in the snow and ice and I want to try them out for myself!
All in all, it’s been a pretty mild winter, and February is more than half way over!
How was your winter training? How about running at night, anyone prefer to take the darkness on?
